The Palatinate Jakob path
Length: 146 km
Height: 373 m
For more than thousand years, pilgrims have been hiking via different routes following the traces of the apostle Jakob to Santiago de Campostela in the North West part of Spain. A few years ago, this tradition was introduced in the Palatinate.
Starting point of the Palatinate Jakob path is Speyer. Both the North and South route end up at the cloister Hornbach. The paths are perfectly connectable with the route from Johanniskreuz to Erlenbach by Dahn.
The connections lead from the Rhine-Hesse through Worms to the Palatinate highland and from Hornbach through the Saarland to Metz, the international Jakobus pilgrim path to Santiago de Compostela.
The hiking tour is mainly on forest paths.
