South-Palatinate cycle path



Kirrweiler - Scheibenhardt (Length: ca. 50 km)

The South-Palatine cycle tour leads you without big slopes from Kirrweiler (access to many cycle paths of the German Wine Route) through meadows and the Rhein Valley to the forest Bienwald. You’ll take off in Kirrweiler and drive first to Venningen, Großfischlingen (where you’ll come across with the cycle path from Rhein to Wine) and Kleinfischlingen to South-East. You’ll pass by a sports field and drive further to Hochstadt, then along a brook Hainbach to Essingen. From Essingen you’ll drive along a concreted road to Bornheim (just before Bornheim cross the B 272). In Bornheim you’ll drive by a sow fountain, and come to a combined cycle and hiking path and to the southern access of the village. Drive further to Dreihof, over golf court Dreihof Essingen, through the meadows of Queich and all the way to Offenbach (here you’ll come across with the Queichtal cycle path). Cross the L 542 and pass the town hall and swimming pools and cross the L 509. Then you’ll pass the tobacco fields and drive along well built roads to Herxheim (where you’ll come across with Klingbach cycle path). The tour leads you further to the tobacco village Hayna. From here you’ll drive further over Hatzenbühl and Kandel (access to Petronella-Rhein cycle path) through the forest and over the hills to Scheibenhardt (access to the Lautertal path).
