Cycle path Rheinaue / Velo Route Rhin
Part from Germersheim to Berg. Length: 45km
Starting point is on the train station in the north-west access road of Lingenfeld. Follow the signs of the cycle path Rheinaue to south-eastern access road. Under cross the railroad and drive by the industrialised area of Germersheim to Rhine. When you reach the bridge of the railway, either drive directly along the main bank of the river Rhine or along a trail to Guest House Rheinschnock, by an old brickyard to a pumping station Sondernheim. Drive through the forest and the nature protection area Hördter Hochwald (protection area due to its special water bird species) to the street of Leimersheim. Drive shortly along the road towards Leimersheim, turn south and drive further along the main bank by pumping station Wörth to Scherpfer-Häusel. Now youll leave the main bank behind and turn to north-west. Drive further along a picturesque path to the street Hafenstraße. Drive along the main street to the southern bank of the Landeshafen and back to the main bank of Rhine. Drive further by Hofgut Ludwigsau and through the harbour Maximiliansau to the river Rhine and under the car and railway bridge. Pedal south ca 1 km along the Rhine, turn west and drive along the main bank of the river Rhine through the Daxlander meadow to the bridge Lauterbrücke. Drive 200 m towards Neuburg, turn left and straight after the graveyard turn again left to the main bank of the river Rhine and pedal to the mountains.
