German-French Pamina cycle path Lautertal

Length: ca. 57 km
Signs: Yellow Euro-cyclist on a blue background

The Lautertal path begins in the old border crossing of Lauterbourg/Neulauterbourg. The path goes from the border crossing towards Scheibenhardt. Turn left when you reach the access road to Scheibenhardt and drive along the outskirts of the locality to a barbeque cottage and further along the southern outskirts of Scheibenhardt to the bridge Lauterbrücke (an old border crossing of Scheibenhardt). Take the first street right after the bridge in Elsass-Scheibenhard and cross the road Scheibenhardt-Wissembourg. Pedal on an asphaltic cycle path (an old railway) over Niederlauterbach, Salmbach, Schleithal and Altenstadt to Wissembourg. There are cross connections in Niederlauterbach, Salmbach and Schleithal to turn back and drive on in the German side along the cycle paths of the administrative district Gemersheim. From Wissembourg you’ll drive further on a well built cycle path over Bobenthal, Niederschlettenbach, Bundenthal and Bruchweiler-Bärenbach to Dahn. The way back from Wissembourg to Lauterbourg is also possible in the German side of the border over Schweighofen, Bienwaldmühle and Scheibenhardt.

Connections: from Lauterbourg take the cycle path towards hills and to the cycle path Reinaue, drive south on a cycle path Lauterbourg-Mothern-Weinheim along Rhein; from Scheibenhardt towards Büchelberg-Kandel; from Bienwaldmühle towards Schaidt.
