Landau: A vacation spot with charm
The old fortress city Landau has many other names: University city, wine and garden city, market and shopping city. Landau is not only geographically in the heart of the Southern Wine Route; all fields of leisure time activities are concentrated here. It is a city for life, shopping, studying and entertainment.
The charming cultural events of the "Jugendstil-Festhalle" underline the reputation of Landau as a cultural city. Nevertheless, the rural charm is dominating here. With its eight districts and wine villages, which are over 1200 years old, Landau is the biggest winegrowing community in Germany.
